New technologies are both changing and challenging public records laws. The ACLU of Vermont recently sued the Attorney General for records on cell phone tracking in the state. We get an overview of what’s covered in public records laws with State Archivist Gregory Sanford. And then we look into how public records are used and what’s fueled the dust up over cell phone monitoring with Vermont Attorney General Bill Sorrell and ACLU of Vermont Executive Director, Allen Gilbert. Also, we talk with forest pathologist Dale Bergdahl. He’s spearheading Vermont’s participation in a national effort to save butternut trees. Butternuts are being decimated by canker. But Bergdahl and others are working to identify disease-resistant trees to help preserve the species. Listen
