There’s a flurry of planning underway to brace for a possible widespread outbreak of the new H1N1 flu this winter. Next week, Department of Health will hold a series of forums to brief officials and Vermonters on what to do to prepare.  We’ll talk with Commissioner Dr. Wendy Davis about what we know about the 2009 H1N1, what plans are being made and what precautions we should be taking.

We also hear from Dawn LeBaron, vice president of hospital services at Fletcher Allen Health Care and Dr. Mark Peluso, the director of the Middlebury College Health Center about what those institutions are doing.

And we talk with M. Dickey Drysdale, editor of The Herald of Randolph, about this week’s vote on a controversial development plan for the land around exit 4 on I-89.

And VPR’s Nina Keck walks us through the Chaffee Arts Centers retrospective of the work of Henry Gorski. Over his 50 year career, Gorski produced art that was both popular and provocative.
