State Treasurer Jeb Spaulding gives us an update on the state’s economy and how Vermont’s investments are faring.  Spaulding will also discuss the state’s retirement benefits programs for employees and teachers. He’s involved in a comprehensive review of the programs and believes future obligations could cost the state more than a billion dollars.

We’ll also hear from Vermont AARP president Jim Leddy who’s concerned
about any major changes to retirement benefits for state employees and teachers.

If you have questions or comments for the treasurer, email us at vermontedition@vpr.net.

And, VPR’s John Dillon talks about this week’s surprising response to financial incentives offered by the state to renewable energy projects.  There’s been overwhelming interest in solar projects.
