This week, the results of the 2011 Youth Risk Behavior Survey were released by the heads of Vermont’s Health and Education Departments, and there are promising trends with fewer teens drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. The survey looks at risky behavior ranging from drugs to sex, to simpler indicators like wearing seat belts. We examine what this year’s survey tells about the health and welfare of Vermont teens with Education Commissioner Armando Vilaseca and Deputy Health Commissioner Tracy Dolan.


Also in the program, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center announced a major change in its management structure this week when it replaced its three-president leadership with one CEO, Dr. James Weinstein. Political Editor John Gregg of the Valley News explains how the change is meant to position DHMC for more changes in the health care industry.
