The 2010 Winter Reading Show

It’s the time of year for kicking off your boots in front of a crackling fire and disappearing into a good book.   Host Jane Lindholm talks with Claire Benedict of Bear Pond Books in Montpelier, and Penny McConnel of The Norwich Bookstore, about what’s flying off the shelves this winter.

And we want to hear from you.  What are you reading?  Are you immersed in a good thriller?  Engrossed in a historical novel?  Or maybe you’re Mastering The Art of French Cooking with Julia Child.  We want to know what’s keeping you turning pages this winter.

Also, we visit the Rokeby Museum
in Ferrisburgh, and talk with director Jane Williamson.  The site was a family farm that became a stop
on the Underground Railroad.  And,
Williamson says the story of the farm forces us to rethink our ideas of how the
Underground Railroad worked in the Northeast.
