The Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision has dramatically
changed the campaign financing playing field. It has created a healthy debate
over its impact. Some people think if you limit spending, you’ll have a greater
opportunity to discuss issues in a campaign. While others view it as
simply a way to ensure that incumbents get re-elected.

Former State
Senator George Coppenrath and Todd Bailey, Senior Government Affairs Specialist at
Kimball, Sherman and Ellis, look at the two sides of the issue.

Also on the program, it appears as if the state of Vermont
will end the fiscal year with a small surplus. Administration Secretary Jeb
Spaulding explains how that surplus will be used and the prospects for the next
fiscal year.
