Close to 500 new people moved to Vermont
last year, and most of them chose the Burlington
area in Chittenden County. Population estimates from the U.S. Census
Bureau show that the county gained 727 new residents by last July 1– meaning
some Vermonters were choosing to relocate to Chittenden
County. Meanwhile, counties in southern Vermont
continued to experience declines in population.
Windsor County
lost close to 200 residents. We take a
closer look at the numbers with Will Sawyer, from the Vermont
State Data Center,
and we examine the economic development impacts on southern Vermont
with Jim Matteau, from the Windham Regional Commission in Brattleboro. (Listen)

Also, we talk to Vermont’s
Deputy Commissioner of Banking, Tom Candon, about the recent security breach at
Hannaford stores. (Listen)

And, we visit the workshop of master flutemaker Jonathon
Landell, who has been making flutes in Richmond
for the past ten years. (Listen)
