Just about every kid who goes to their first Major League Baseball game comes away with a lifetime memory.

For 10-year old Rosie Newton of St. Albans, her first game to see the Red Sox play at Fenway Park in Boston promises to be more memorable than most.

That’s because this January Rosie placed second in a singing competition, and as a result, will sing "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch this Sunday when the Red Sox take on the Seattle Mariners in the Sox’ annual Vermont Day game at Fenway Park.

VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb reached Rosie at her home in St. Albans as she was getting ready for school, she says it’s already been a special experience because the final rounds of the competition were held in Boston, at the nation’s oldest ballpark.
