Eleven Williamstown High School students are being recognized as ready to work after they completed a 15-week pilot program run by their school and the Community College of Vermont.

The students are going to be recognized at the Statehouse in Montpelier today. Gov. Peter Shumlin will present them with Governor’s Career Ready Certificates. Later they will meet with the House and Senate education committees.

In January the students completed the course in which they worked on tasks such as microcomputer applications, effective speaking, résumé writing, and more.

Williamstown teacher Sandy Fitzmorris says the course prepared students for the next phase of their lives whether it’s college or the workforce.
