A Northeast Kingdom newspaper makes changes

The Barton Chronicle has been a Northeast Kingdom institution since 1974.

Recently, publisher Chris Braithwaite broke the news to Chronicle subscribers that the newspaper would no longer be delivered to mailboxes outside the U.S.

At the same time, the Barton Chronicle launched a web site.

Braithwaite wrote an editorial about all the changes, explaining that the rising cost of snail mail is dragging the Chronicle — as he puts it — into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming:
