The former owner of the Killington and Mount Snow ski resorts in Vermont and others around the country has sold off its last property and gone out of business.

American Skiing Company owned as many as 10 ski areas as recently as 2001 but got into deep financial trouble and in recent years as been selling off its properties.

The last was The Canyons in Park City, Utah, which has been taken over by Toronto-based resort operator Talisker Corp.

Talisker didn’t say how much it paid, but the company offered $100 million last July.
