Anti-abortion group critical of contest rule

An anti-abortion group is calling attention to what it termed an inconsistency in the policies of the abortion rights group, Planned Parenthood. National Planned Parenthood is running a poster contest to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortions. Participants younger than 18 need to get their parents’ permission to enter the contest.

Vermont Right to Life says the contest rule is inconsistent with Planned Parenthood’s position on abortion access for minors. Planned Parenthood has been fighting against a Vermont proposal calling for parents to be notified when their minor daughter seeks an abortion.
