Antioch University calls for buyers for flagship college

Antioch University, which has a campus in Keene, New Hampshire, is offering its flagship college in Ohio for sale to any buyer than can provide the full payment up front.

University trustees announced last June that they planned to close Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, for at least a year due to declining enrollment and other factors.

An alumni group wants to take over the college’s operations, but negotiations with the university were called off on Friday after school officials declined the group’s offer to pay half of the $12 million price over five years.

Antioch now says it is open to negotiations with any potential buyer that can provide all of the money at closing.

In addition to Keene, Antioch University has campuses in Seattle, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, California.
