An assault suspect whose case went to the U.S. Supreme Court has been returned to jail.
In March, the nation’s highest court ruled that the Vermont Supreme Court was wrong in ordering the release of Michael Brillon. Brillon was convicted of assaulting a woman in 2004 but freed from prison last year because it took nearly three years for his case to get to trial.
Brillon was ordered to report to jail on Wednesday.
The Vermont Supreme Court is expected to take up the case again in May.
