A Barre Town police officer says he will give school officials copies of photographs he took of student projects at Spaulding High School. Officer John Mott says the photos will provide evidence of what he described as a history teacher’s left-leaning teaching style. Critics and supporters of history teacher Tom Treece spoke at a packed hearing before the school board last night.

Mott was on a break last month around 1:30 a.m. when he photographed the projects, some of which he says he found offensive. School Superintendent Dorothy Anderson says she’s concerned that Mott gained access to a locked classroom at Spaulding High School in Barre after hours and without supervision.
