Bellows Falls trustees decide against hydro plant purchase

Bellows Falls village trustees have decided against backing the town of Rockingham’s proposed purchase of a hydroelectric plant. Some trustees are concerned about how the village and the town will split a $3 million annual payment from the dam operator. Village trustees say they support the town buying an ownership stake in the dam, but they can’t endorse it without an agreement on splitting the revenues.
