Bennington Rescue Squad Celebrates Addition

A nearly 50-year-old rescue squad in Vermont is celebrating the expansion of its operations.

The most recent expansion for the Bennington Rescue Squad came partly as a result of another squad going out of business last year. That caused an increase in the need for EMS services.

The Bennington Banner reports the rescue group will mark its 50th anniversary next year as one of the few remaining self-supporting groups in the state, reliant on donations and fees for service.

Alfred Pinsonneault Jr., a founding member of the group, was recognized Sunday with a plaque on the newly dedicated Alfred L. Pinsonneault Jr. EMS Facility.
