Berlin opts for road repair

The town of Berlin is going to repair a damaged roadway that connects two distinct sections of the community.

Some residents had wanted to close the Crosstown Road between the economic heart of Berlin and the Riverton neighborhood.

But a majority of town residents want to reopen the road, which runs down a steep hill. The road was closed earlier this year after the gravel surface shifted.

Officials estimate it will take three months and cost up to $300,000 to repair the road.
