A program that allows people from outside the United States to obtain U.S. residency in exchange for investments is seen as key to a new development at Jay Peak ski resort.

An announcement planned for today at Jay Peak will outline multiple new projects planned in the Northeast Kingdom.

One such project is a flight school – specializing in cold weather flying – at the airport in Coventry.
Some reports say the projects could create 5-thousand jobs.

Governor Peter Shumlin and members of Vermont’s congressional delegation plan to be on hand for the announcement.
