Pentagon officials say an Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed in upstate New York Tuesday. The area’s emergency services office says the helicopter crashed at Fort Drum around two o’clock this afternoon. Officials say nine people were aboard; at least three of them have been transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Fort Drum is home to the U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division and it’s used as a training and mobilization center. Vermont National Guard troops regularly train at Fort Drum. However, a Guard spokesman says there are currently no Vermont units in training there.
