(Neal Charnoff) In 1989, Ripton author Bill McKibben published “The End of Nature”, in which he warned about the true costs of global warming, the destruction of the ozone layer and other man-made environmental ills. The book is now a cornerstone of environmental debate.

In his new book, titled “Enough,” McKibben turns his attention to how technology is threatening human identity. With scientists close to successfully cloning human beings, and geneticists on the cusp of “programming” human genes, McKibben says it’s time to slow down, debate the moral and philosophical implications of our engineered future.
