(Neal Charnoff) Vermont author Jeffrey Lent had great success with his first novel, “In the Fall,” which followed three generations of a family after the Civil War. Lent’s latest book is called “Lost Nation.”

The setting is frontier New Hampshire in the late 1830’s. It tells the story of an itinerant trader named Blood, and Sally, a 16-year-old prostitute he won in a card game. It’s a chilling story, as Blood and Sally struggle to survive surrounded by poverty and violence.

Jeffrey Lent joins us from our studio in Norwich. Jeffery Lent, thanks for joining us.
