(Neal Charnoff) This is All Things Considered on VPR. The New York Times is the newspaper of record for perhaps the greatest city of our time. But readers are regularly treated to meditations on rural living, written by one of the paper’s editorial board members, Verlyn Klinkenborg. Many of these essays have been published in a new book called “The Rural Life,” published by Little, Brown and Company.

Klinkenborg lives on a small farm in upstate New York, and joins us now from his office in New York City. Verlyn Klinkenborg, thank you for joining us.
