The Brattleboro Union High School band has been invited to Washington to march in the Inaugural Parade, following Barack Obama’s swearing in as the nation’s 44th president.
The band was among more than 1,300 applications from across the country seeking a chance to participate in the festivities on January 20.
The band currently is working to raise funds for the trip to Washington.
Groups participating in the inaugural were selected by the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, working with the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
