New Hampshire State agencies will continue spelling out their budget requests today. But Governor John Lynch has warned them to be frugal given the tough economic times.

On Friday, the joint legislative Fiscal Committee approved nearly $60 million in budget cuts. Lynch also recommended another $20 million in steps that will require legislative action when lawmakers convene in January. Even then, another $75 million must be found to balance this year’s budget.

Lynch also opened hearings on agency budget requests for the next two years with warning that he plans to extend many of the freezes on spending imposed this year. The hearings continue today, tomorrow and early next week.
