A camp for kids with cancer is getting a new home.

After 24 years in Colchester, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta is moving. The camp plans to buy a 103-acre site in South Hero.

Last week, Camp Ta-Kum-Ta campers and staff learned about the new location after being loaded onto a bus for an unknown destination that turned out to be Sawyer Bay Farm, where a sign reading "Welcome to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta" welcomed them.

Camp founder Ted Kessler says the new location will help his organization continue to provide a safe, loving environmental for kids with cancer.

The camp was formerly held at Camp Holy Cross in Colchester, but the Diocese of Burlington is considering a sale of the site.
