The Republicans seeking the top two state offices both support a moratorium on large-scale wind tower development in Vermont.

The Burlington Free Press reports that mountaintop wind has emerged as an issue this election season.

Both Republican gubernatorial candidate Randy Brock and Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott say it’s time to take a pause on wind power development and examine its impact on the state.

Democratic Governor Peter Shumlin says he opposes a moratorium on wind power development. The same is true of Cassandra Gekas, the Democratic and Progressive candidate for lieutenant governor.
