(Host) State police in Rutland say Patrick Farrow – the well known Castleton sculptor – was found dead in his gallery last night.

As VPR’s Nina Keck reports, the death is under investigation.

(Keck) State Police  Detective Tim Oliver says Farrow’s wife, Susan Farrow, called 9-1-1 last night at 11:30 requesting assistance at the home she shared with her husband. When police and paramedics arrived, they found 66 year old Patrick Farrow unresponsive and determined he was dead. Detective Oliver says he dispatched a team from the state’s crime lab to investigate the scene today.

(Oliver) Patrick Farrow was transported to the office of the state medical examiner where an autopsy presumably tomorrow.  And once we have the results of that autopsy, we’ll combine it with the informationwe gained at the scene and we’ll hopefully make a determination as to what caused this gentleman’s death."

(Keck) Oliver wouldn’t call the death suspicious – but said the cause was undetermined and therefore an autopsy was standard procedure. Patrick Farrow is well known as an award winning artist and also as the brother of actress Mia Farrow.

For Vermont Public Radio, I’m Nina Keck.
