(Host) The Chittenden County Transportation Authority has hired a new General Manager.
Bill Watterson will be joining CCTA on March 5th.
Watterson comes to Vermont from Virginia, where he is currently the Transit Manager for Charlottesville Area Transit.
Watterson says his to-do list includes finding a suitable location for a bus station in downtown Burlington.
(Watterson) "I know that there’s a desire to figure out a way to have a station, a fixed facility, to make passenger connections between buses in the downtown Burlington area more effective and efficient, and that will be a particular challenge."
(Host) Watterson says CCTA must also tackle affordability issues, in the face of rising gas prices.
