From a French Fort nearly 300 years old to Native American artifacts that date back thousands of years, an archeological dig at Chimney Point a couple of years ago unearthed some amazing treasures. The results of the dig will be the subject of two upcoming talks and displays this week and this Sunday.

University of Vermont Associate Professor of Anthropology John Crock explains what he and his students found at the site – and why they were pleasantly surprised to find historically significant items where a new bridge was being built between West Addison in Vermont and Crown Point in New York.

Kate Kenny will give a talk on the Chimney Point artifacts on Thursday, September 13, at 7 p.m. at Chimney Point State Historic Site. On Sunday, September 16, at 4 p.m. John Crock will speak on the archeological dig at Ethan Allen Homestead.
