Climate scientist says Nobel Prize will draw attention to cause

The Union of Concerned Scientists recently released a new report on how climate change is affecting New England states.

The chief climate scientist for the UCS is Peter Frumhoff, and we spoke with him about the report the same day it was announced that Al Gore would be sharing this year’s Nobel Peace Prize with the IPCC — the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Frumhoff was thrilled about the Nobel awards announcement, in no small part because the Union of Concerned Scientists contributed to the IPCC report on global warming.

Frumhoff says having a connection to the Nobel Peace Prize is gratifying, but what’s more important is that the discussion on the effects of climate change is drawing more attention than ever:
