Vermont is coming out of one of the coldest periods the state has gone through in years. The lowest reported temperature in the state Monday night was in the Northeast Kingdom town of Sutton, at 35 degrees below zero. Several towns in the northern part of the state reported temperatures between minus 20 and minus 30.

The forecast now calls for warmer weather. By the weekend temperatures should be in the 20s and on Monday it’s possible the temperature will rise above freezing.
