The complaint alleging that Supreme Court Justice John Dooley violated the code of judicial conduct has been dismissed.
Dooley was accused of improperly using his position for personal advantage in a lawsuit in which he is involved and making false statements in connection with that litigation.
The Judicial Conduct Board issued a statement saying a preliminary investigation had found no basis on which to bring formal ethics charges.
The complaints were made by Ralph Deslauriers Jr, who has been stymied in efforts to development some land he owns near the Dooleys’ home in South Burlington.
Dooley is among the judges up for review by the Vermont Legislature.
