A guard at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in Saint Albans is facing charges he tried to smuggle marijuana and tobacco to an inmate.
The Vermont State Police says that 21-year-old Joshiua James Pickreign of Champlain, N.Y., was seen picking up the contraband from 24-year-old Kasi McWilliams of Alburgh.
Pickreign was stopped by police on April 9. Police say that McWilliams is the girlfriend of Northwest inmate Clark W. Salmon.
Pickreign, McWilliams and Salmon are now facing conspiracy charges. They are due in court next month.
