A West Rutland Couple are facing charges of operating an unlicensed tattoo parlor linked to an outbreak of a drug-resistant staph infection.

Thirty-year-old Michael C. Mills and his wife, 27-year-old Tiffany D. Mills, have been cited to appear in court at a later date to face charges of unlicensed tattooing, each count of which can carry up to a year in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Officials say three people who got tattoos from the Millses had to be treated for a bacterial infection called MRSA, or methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus.
