At least one bank that serves New Hampshire says customers have been affected by the latest credit card data breach.

TD BankNorth posted notices on its Web site Friday warning customers about the breach and encouraging them to check debit card and credit card statements to see if they had lost any money.

Bank spokeswoman Jennifer Carlson said some customers have been affected, but she would not say how many. TD BankNorth serves more than 260,000 households in New Hampshire.

Credit card numbers were stolen from Heartland Payment Systems, a Princeton, N.J., company that processes 5 billion transactions a year for 250,000 businesses around the country.

Carlson said the bank isn’t planning to reissue credit cards or debit cards. She said the bank hasn’t seen any fraud on any accounts, but continues to monitor the situation.
