Dartmouth College is reporting a successful fund-raising year.

The Ivy League school says it’s taken in nearly $160 million in charitable donations.

Altogether, nearly 41,000 Dartmouth alumni, parents, friends, foundations and corporations contributed to various college fund-raising programs.

Dartmouth President James Wright says he’s particularly struck by the large number of younger alumni contributing to the college.
He says 80% of the class of 2007 donated.
