Dartmouth files brief in defense of affirmative action

Dartmouth College asked the U.S. Supreme Court Monday to continue to support a university’s ability to consider racial and ethnic diversity when admitting students. In its friend of the court brief, Dartmouth said that the principle has allowed students to view issues from different perspectives and helps students to break down prejudices.

The brief was filed with seven other universities in two cases challenging the University of Michigan’s undergraduate and law school admissions systems.
