Since the January earthquake that devastated Haiti, medical personnel from Dartmouth have been shuttling between Hanover and the island nation.

Earlier this month, though, Dartmouth Haiti Response coordinators announced that they were suspending a planned trip to Haiti by a dozen doctors, therapists and nurses.

Officials said they were concerned about civil instability in Haiti and uncertain about their mission.

Dr. John Butterly is Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center’s Executive Medical Director. He spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about the decision.
