Presidential candidate Howard Dean is expanding his Iowa campaign staff. The former Vermont governor is adding key communications and organizational staffers.
Sarah Leonard will become Dean’s communications director for the state, and Jennifer Hengstenberg will become political director for Dean’s Iowa campaign. Ken Sanguin will be director of field operations.
Leonard was press secretary for Senator Tom Harkin’s campaign, and communications director for Iowa’s Democratic Party. Hengstenberg was finance director for the state Democratic Party, and was political director for the campaign of Governor Tom Vilsack. Sanguin worked for the late U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone.
