Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean has gained on Massachusetts Senator John Kerry in a new poll among likely voters in the New Hampshire Democratic primary. Twenty-three percent of participants in the American Research Group poll released Thursday said they would support Kerry, followed by Dean at 16%.

Representative Dick Gephardt of Missouri also polled at 16% and Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut received 10%. Twenty-seven percent of those polled remained undecided.

Last month, Kerry was ahead of Dean 27% to 15%.
