Dean says Bush is playing politics with terrorism

Vermont Governor Howard Dean says a list of priorities that was recently put together by the White House is “another attempt to play politics with terrorism.” The internal White House document outlines President Bush’s re-election agenda. It starts with the war on terrorism and homeland security.

Critics say it’s the latest sign that presidential advisers are seeking political gain from the September 11 terrorist attacks. The White House denies that, saying the list simply outlines a complicated set of issues that Bush must confront.

Dean is a Democrat who is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination. He and other presumed Democratic candidates weighed in on the issue of Bush’s list last week.
