Stuck chairlift
An electrical glitch caused a Magic Mountain chairlift to stop for three hours yesterday, leaving about 175 people suspended in the air. Some of the skiers jumped off the lift, using the snow to cushion their fall. The general manager of the ski area, says they weren’t supposed to jump off. He says the problem has been fixed — and anyone who asked for a full refund got one. Magic Mountain is in Londonderry. It has 17-hundred feet of vertical drop and four chairlifts. (AP)
