The Vermont and New Hampshire Valley Red Cross held a concert this weekend to help raise money for flood-weary residents.
The concert was the first major fundraising effort by the organization since it depleted its funds for this fiscal year, which ends on June 30th.
The organization depends on local support to sustain its relief efforts.
This year the Red Cross has dealt with an unusually high number of incidents, including the Brooks House fire in downtown Brattleboro, and the ongoing flooding in Lake Champlain.
VPR’s Neal Charnoff speaks with regional executive Larry Crist about what kind of a year it’s been for the organization.
