Authorities are waiting for equipment to get some derailed freight cars back on the tracks in Bellows Falls, but the ensuing highway traffic jam on the other side of the river in New Hampshire has been cleared up.

No one was hurt when four boxcars carrying paper left the tracks as the slow-moving train crossed a bridge over the Connecticut River just before four o’clock this morning.

Police say Route 12 was re-opened early this afternoon. They hope the train track will be cleared by tomorrow morning.
