A Vermont State Police captain has been promoted to major and will be in charge of all uniformed personnel. James Dimmick will be responsible for all twelve state police barracks, the communications center, and more than 300 civilian and uniformed troopers.
He replaces Kerry Sleeper, who left state police to become the state public safety commissioner.
