A new report says Vermont’s Roman Catholic Diocese has not yet fully complied with the Catholic church’s new sex abuse policy.

Bishop Salvatore Matano says the diocese is close to completing its child-abuse prevention training.

An audit says Vermont is one of eleven percent of the country’s diocese that has not yet complied with the new policies.

Matano says the statewide diocese expects to complete the necessary training for its 130 parishes by June 30th.

The diocese has done background checks on 1,300 staff and volunteers. The diocese is now reviewing those criminal background checks.
