All this month on Vermont Edition we’ve been interviewing the Democratic candidates for Governor. For our final interview today, we’re joined by Democratic State Senator Doug Racine.

Racine was first elected to the state senate in 1982, where he served for 10 years. He lost a bid for lieutenant governor in 1994 but was successful in his run in 1996 and was lieutenant governor for the next six years. In 2002 he ran for governor and lost to Jim Douglas. In 2007 he returned to the Senate, where he will finish his current term this year.

He spoke with VPR’s Jane Lindholm about his candidacy.
