Republican gubernatorial candidate James Douglas and lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Brian Dubie say they want to change the state’s priorities by directing more money toward job creation. Speaking in the parking lot of an empty factory in Shaftsbury today, they said more money should go to the Economic Development Department.
Dubie says there are 16 people working to create jobs through the Commerce Agency, while 600 people are regulating industry at the Natural Resources Agency. Douglas and Dubie also want to change the way Act 250 development law is administered.
