Governor Douglas is promoting health care reform among his colleagues at the National Governors Association.

The governors have been meeting over the weekend in Charleston, South Carolina, and health care has been one of the topics on their agenda.

The governors selected Douglas to lead a new initiative that will look at how to improve health care quality, safety and efficiency through the use of technology.

Douglas and Vermont legislators included an initiative along those lines in their version of health care reform, enacted earlier this year.

Governors have been sharing with each other their states’ efforts to reform health care by making it more affordable or to expand access to coverage.
